Brioche and cables: briochables? briocables?
Worked in bulky (or heavier) weight yarn, this pattern works up quickly into a lovely, squishy, warm scarf.
I love the word ‘concordance’, meaning ‘ agreement or consistency’ and I think it suits this pattern perfectly. The columns of brioche look like cords, and the arrangement of cables reminds me of a structured, orderly kind of dance.
The pattern includes both written instructions and charts. Detailed descriptions and a photo tutorial of the more unusual stitches are also included.
Materials:• Bulky weight yarn in two colours, approximately 220m (240yds) of MC and 200m (220yds) of CC. • 5.5mm/US 9 circular needles with a 10cm/4” or longer cable. • Two cable needles or locking stitch markers to hold one or two stitches. • Tapestry needle to weave in ends. • Crochet hook to make fringes (if desired).
**Size of finished shawl:**Length 220cm/86.5” (not including fringe), width 12cm/4.75”, after blocking.
