Product Details
Gauge: 17 sts in 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette stitch (row gauge is not important – measurements are given instead of row count).
You will need: Aran yarn (up to 500 grams if you are making unlined hood, up to 680 grams if you are making a lined hood), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (for both knitting in the round and knitting flat), a darning needle, four regular stitch markers, three locking stitch markers, a safety pin.
The hood can be made either lined or as a single layer of knit.
At first, you knit the neck warmer part – it is knit top down. The neck part of the neck warmer is knit round, the chest part is knit mostly in the round, and the lower part is knit flat. Then you pick up and knit the hood – at first, it is knit in the round, then it is knit flat. The drawstring binding is knit in the round.
It can be made in sizes from 2yrs to adult – the neck part is snug fit, but the hood is oversized.
