What you'll need
Product Details
This cowl is simple yet eye catching in it's construction as it is knitted fat and seamed at the end.
The cabled pattern is very effective, using both knit and purl stitches to create a cable within a cable effect. It is a split cable which will keep your interest if you are looking for an unusual cable. It is a little more challenging at first, but you will soon pick up the repeating pattern.
It is also quite quick to knit up so would make a great last minute gift if you fnd yourself needing to whip something up from your stash. Bigger sizes are achieved by repeating the rows at the beginning and end which will ensure the cable is still in the middle of the cowl.
The cowl takes around 85g to 100g of aran weight yarn. It is perfect for the changing seasons and would make a quick, yet loved gift.

I downloaded a free pattern and printed it without any issues. The cowl had quite a detailed cable pattern, which confused me to begin with, however once I'd completed one section, it was straightforward. I was very pleased with the finished product and may well make more of them as gifts. I've always used a double ended needle for cable, but the stitches kept coming off. I would recommend buying a specific cable needle, which solves that problem.
