Product Details

Demeter is the Greek goddess of the harvest, often symbolized by grains, particularly barley and wheat, and is described in Homer’s work The Odyssey as a blond-haired goddess who separates the chaff from the grain. These socks feature a simple wheat-sheaf lace motif on the front of the sock, and an easy-to-work textured barleycorn motif around the rest of the leg, framing the wheat sheaf.

These socks are knit from the top (cuff) down. They feature a heel flap and a wide toe construction. The originals are knit in Wooly Wonka Fibers Arianrhod Sock in the "Butternut" colorway, but any sock yarn with approximately 425-435 yards/100 grams could be used for these.

A very big thank-you to my sample knitter for helping me get these done!

These socks are also being released as part of the Legendary Knits, volume 1, collection.
