Product Details
This story scarf is inspired by C.S. Lewis’s classic tale ‘The Magician’s Nephew’. This is the story that began the Narnia Chronicles, and whilst less known than ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for me, it is just as good.
The scarf is made up of a variety of stitch patterns that explore different knitting techniques, each bite-sized enough to keep it interesting. The changing patterns mimic the flow of the narrative and reflect the different motifs of this well-loved classic. I strongly encourage you to read the novel to your children as you knit this scarf.
Construction:
The scarf begins in the same manner as a sock toe using Judy's Magic Cast On. It is knit seamlessly as a long tube and is kitchener stitched closed to complete it. This creates a gloriously warm double layer scarf.
Treat this project as a sampler knit, engage for longer in those parts you enjoy and omit any techniques you aren't comfortable with.
Instructions are both charted and written.
