Product Details
Worked sideways in one piece, this ladies’ neck garment takes its name from its eight lacy rays, which derive from a favorite Victorian edging pattern called Godmother’s Edging. I’ve added a mandarin collar and a shaped yoke, achieved with short rows.
The prototype was worked in a pygora/merino blend spun to DK weight. In this photo the garment is held together with an antique gold and garnet stickpin. Alternate closure would be hooks and eyes disguised with small antique buttons; garnet and gold buttons would be ideal.
Suitable for an experienced beginner.
