The Elizabeth Hat is made in loving memory of my late maternal grandmother Aleyamma (Elizabeth in Malayalam) who was the sweetest woman in the world to me. The same way in which she lifted up my spirits when I felt low, this design has also helped me to cope with my anxiety. I hope everyone who makes this hat feels the same.
The Elizabeth Hat features the Tunisian smock stitch colourwork and is worked in the round. It is a made to measure pattern with options for a normal brim, cuffed up brim or slouchy hat thus offering plenty of room for customisation.
The pattern calls for aran weight yarn of about 50g in two colours but since it is made to measure you can play with different yarn weights and hook sizes.
With a stretchy brim, the tunisian smock stitch and a crocheted faux fur pom pom, the Elizabeth Hat is a statement piece for your fall and winter wardrobe!
