Product Details
Textured and top-down! Enfield is constructed in top-down fashion with raglan sleeves and a textured stitch pattern. It begins by casting on for the sleeves, back, and fronts, and working flat for several rows before casting on the remaining sts for the front--this deepens the neckline a bit and keeps the pullover from falling off the shoulders. A simple engineering trick maintains the textured pattern when joining in the round to complete the bodice to the hem, and a generous cowl adds to the charm of a very cozy sweater. Make it with regular-length long sleeves, or elongate the ribbing at the cuff with an added thumbhole for an even snugglier garment.
Ribbing at the sides of the bodice and sleeves do most of the shaping for you, so I’ve worked in less waist shaping that I typically do for pullovers. I also recommend anywhere from 0-3” of positive ease in this garment rather than negative ease, so chose a size that either matches your bust size or is a bit bigger. Materials: Approx: 1030(1125, 1250, 1325, 1460, 1600, 1740, 1825) yards of worsted weight yarn (yardage estimates include elongated sleeves with thumbholes. Regular long sleeves will require fewer yards).
