Product Details
This image seemed very appropriate in this Diamond Jubilee year of Queen Elizabeth II. The inspiration for the design comes from a first class British postage stamp. Using DK yarn and 3 mm needles the completed illusion measures approximately 80 cm by 68 cm (32" by 27") and uses about 420 metres (460 yards) of yarn in each of two colours. It can be made in any yarn though this might change the overall size.
When you look at illusion knitting from in front you only see narrow stripes. The image appeats when you look from the dide. Designed to be viewed from the side the illusion is intended as a wall hanging or the centre for a bed cover.
My original piece was bought by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Some of the photos show it in situ. It was very difficult to get photos due to the strange lighting in the room.
