Product Details
The mood behind this collar was the touch of glamour, added to a plain top, by an elegant accessory which may be worn for that work day to evening transition. The overall shape allows it to be worn in many ways. It may be held in place with a stunning brooch or with buttons sewn together as “cufflinks” – directions for which are given in this pattern.
This collar combines a variation of a classic trailing leaf design with a fairly simple edging pattern. Although the bulk of the garment is fairly straightforward to knit there are a few challenges such as the nepps along the outer edge and working double yarn overs. Other Special techniques include short row shaping, and picking up sts along the neck edge.
This collar was originally designed in *Louisa Harding *Grace. Malabrigo Silky Merino is a possible alternative or see www.yarnsub.com for other suggestions. Be sure to swatch to check tension.
