Product Details
Foraois (pronounced FUR-eesh) is the Irish Gaelic word for forest, the inspiration for the Foraois Beanie Set. As a knitter and designer from the Aran Islands, Ireland, I love taking elements of traditional Aran knitting, like twisted and cable stitches, and applying them to more modern styles. This lovely pattern set was originally published in Knotions online magazine, and has been fully tested and tech edited. Publishing rights have returned to me, and I am delighted to offer the pattern for sale here : ) Two pdfs are provided, one for the hat, and one for the neckwarmer. Both items are knit in the round, using circular knitting needles (US 7 & 8/4.5mm & 5mm sizes suggested). Both charts and written instructions are included. I would describe the level of difficulty as medium - you have to pay attention to the cabled section, but the beanie works up quickly, and the cabling becomes easier as the ‘trees’ grow; the crown is worked in soothing reverse stockinette.
