What you'll need
Product Details
The scarf begins with a set of large blocks which are broken into progressively smaller blocks. The blocks then increase in size again. Because of the way the blocks change size there are places where half a block is worked at a time or you change direction part way across the scarf. Some familiarity with the entrelac technique is advised. A garter stitch border provides a little extra width and a finished edge.
The sample scarf is about 8.5" x 58" (22cm x 147cm). It could easily be shortened or lengthened by removing or adding rows of blocks.
The sample used somewhat less than 1 ball of each of the blue and green yarns and about 1.5 balls of gold. I knit a second scarf in a single color which used about 2.5 balls of Cotton Fine at the same gauge.
The pattern includes basic instructions for the different sized entrelac blocks and schematics showing the order in which the blocks are worked.
