Product Details
This easy-to-hook blanket inspired by the ikat dyeing and weaving traditions in Central and Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and Latin America is sure to impress! A self-striping yarn and a contrast yarn are both carried throughout the whole blanket, making color changes easy.
You can make a wider blanket by adding 54 stitches (1 pattern repeat) or 108 stitches (2 pattern repeats) to the foundation row. Shown here across a king size bed.
Light, dk, or light worsted weight yarn (light, category 3).
You will need 2,360 yards (2,158 meters) of main color yarn (MC), the self-striping yarn in the sample.
You will need 2,154 yards (1,970 meters) of contrast color yarn (CC), the solid white yarn in the sample. This includes the yarn needed for the border and tassels.
The sample blanket used 4 cakes of Lion Brand Mandala yarn in Warlock (color 215) (100% acrylic; 590 yards (540 m) per 150-gram cake) and 2 balls of Bernat Baby Sport yarn in White (100% acrylic; 1,077 yards (984 m) per 300-gram ball).
