Product Details
A fingering yarn will produce a moose about 20" (51cm) from top of antlers to bottom of feet. A sport weight yarn will make a moose about 23" (58cm) tall. And a worsted yarn will give you about 26" (66cm) of moose to play with.
Figure roughly 400-500 yds (365-457 M) of yarn for the moose, 200-300 yds (183-275 M) of yarn for the sweater, 40-130 yds (36-118 M) for antlers and snowflakes or stripes on the sweater. And a few yards of black or other dark yarn to embroider the face.
The moose and its sweater are knit in the round on DP needles using short rows for shaping. The arms are knit separately and sewn on. The ears and antlers are knit as part of the head. There are 2 variations for the sweater - striped or a snowflake design (chart for the snowflake design is included).
