This shawl features a small old school, “granny-chic”, flowery pattern that cuts up the otherwise monochromatic colour palette with a little bit of texture. To avoid too much romance, stripes and a ribbed border keep everything fresh and contemporary.
The shawl is worked in easy to memorise, similar sections: In total it has 9 Pattern repeats and a ribbed border all around. Because of this, it’s quite a straightforward project which does not demand much concentration (only on increase rows and at the patterned rows, one needs to keep track of what is happening). The increases follow a very simple sequence logic that can be worked out after a couple of repetitions that is easy to follow intuitively, so that you could effortless add more repeats (if substituting with a finer yarn) and work on this shawl in front of the TV or at the beach!
