Granny Splits Blanket Pattern US terms
There are so many layout and design options with the Granny Splits square! This pattern will show you how to create a rainbow ombre version, but by simply turning, increasing rounds, decreasing rounds, or changing the colours of your squares you can create your own verion of the Granny Splits blanket.
The pattern comes as a 15 page PDF download. Instructions include -
- Step by step photos for the squares, joining and border. - Information to calculate the pattern to your own custom size. - blank charts to assist you in planning your own layout.
To replicate the rainbow version pictured you will need approx 40gms of each colour and 70gms for the border.
I used a 4mm hook with cotton DK yarn. I recommend a 4.5mm with Acrylic DK and a 5.5mm with Acrylic Aran.
Stitches used are (US) SC, HDC, DC, Puff Stitch. (UK) DC, HTR, TR, Puff Stitch.
