Product Details
Here’s a great project to use up some of those worsted weight scraps. I used 12 different colors of yarn I had in my stash along with newly purchased yarns, a mixture of solids and variegated. I bought the main color - antique white - to finish off the project. This is an inexpensive way to create a lasting addition to your home or to gift to that someone special.
Using the traditional granny square as the foundation, this afghan pattern also teaches you how to join the squares as you go with the slip stitch method. The pattern walks you through all of the steps from start to finish with helpful pictures. The pattern also includes a chart of the granny square and details about the blanket layout.
I used Hobby Lobby "I Love This Yarn" and Plymouth "Encore". I would estimate the blanket takes 3 skeins of the main color and 2-3 skeins for the squares.
Stitches used: Chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, shell stitch
