Product Details

Like the flower, the beauty of the shawl is in its simplicity. The main body of this shawl is crocheted in half trebles – I have a huge affection for the half treble as it is often overlooked and thought of as only a convenient stepping-stone between its more popular siblings; the double and the treble. To my mind, when worked in rows back and forth, it gives a pleasant effect not a million miles away from its knitted counterpart; garter stitch. I wanted the pattern to be straightforward so that it could be picked up and set down easily without the need to consult long and complicated instructions. To make life even easier, I would recommend that you place a removable marker at the start of an increase or decrease row, so you always know exactly where you are. The edging is only three rows and can be started without the need to cut the yarn from the main body – although it would look wonderful with a contrast edging if the fancy took you!

Notes
The shawl can also be made with any weight of yarn; just make sure that you use a hook that will give you some drape.
