Product Details
The Hill Head Snood is created from a 10 section pattern which uses short rows to produce a lovely and unusual wave like stripe effect. The pattern is then repeated and the two ends grafted together to form a loop. It is part of an accessories collection inspired by the colours and textures of the landscape and treasures found at beautiful Hill Head, a stoney beach on the South coast of England.
This versatile neck warmer can be worn as a long loop to make a style statement, doubled up to create a cosy collar, or over the head like a hood to keep the ears warm on a particularly chilly or windy day. I have used less than one ball each of Rowan Felted Tweed DK in 5 colours for my example but the pattern would also look amazing worked up as a stash buster, mixing textures and colours.
The snood is worked in stocking and garter stitch. The pattern requires a provisional cast on, short row shaping (instructions for wrap and turn are given in the pattern) and grafting (Kitchener Stitch).
