Inspired by the crater-covered lunar landscape and named for one of the first recorded female mathematicians and astronomers, this cowl pattern uses a mixture of double-stranded (“marled”) garter stitch and double knitting worked in the round to create a completely reversible fabric.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Height: 9 inches
Circumference: 31 inches, easily adjusted
GAUGE (after blocking)
18 sts/34 rounds = 4 inches in double-stranded (“marled”) garter stitch in the round
18 sts/25 rounds = 4 inches in double-knit stockinette stitch in the round
NOTE: This will actually be 36 sts, but sts are only counted on one side of the swatch.
MATERIALS
Sport weight yarn, 300 yards each in 2 contrasting solids or semi-solids (It may be best to avoid “sticky” yarns, like single-ply)
