Product Details

Creating these hummingbirds is a thankful task in these times of social distancing: hang up these birds all over the house andgo bird watching without even leaving the house!

There are 4 birds in the pattern: thewhite-necked jacobin, ruby topaz, tufted coquetteandlong-tailed-sylph.

These birds make great, colorful hanging ornaments, for your Easter branches, for example!

The birds were knitted on 2.25 mm dpn (UK 13, US 1) with small amounts of yarns (13 m), they are easy, small projects to use up any scraps you have lying around and can be made in an evening or so. Adding a strand of metallic sewing yarn gives the hummingbirds their signature iridescence. Creating these birds asks for some intarsia color work, short row and i-cord knitting and loop stitches (explained in the pattern). The beaks were made with tooth picks and in lace gauge yarn.

Have fun on knitting adventure and your in-house bird watching tour!
