Product Details
The Jeannie pattern is taken from The Vintage Shetland Project. It is a delicate garment with an all-over colour-work pattern originally created by Jeannie Jarmson of Shetland in the 1930s. The slightly loose fitting blouson style of the top is typical of this period. It is worked in the round from the bottom up with steeks added at the armholes and front neck to enable a seamless construction. The shoulders are then joined together using three-needle bind-off. The deep neckline is emphasised with unusual mitred corners at centre front which are then held in position with decorative buttons.
The sample was knitted using Perle Blend from Susan Crawford Vintage.
The pattern contains full colour charts and written instructions as well as clear schematic diagrams.
An update scheduled for July 2021 which will add three further sizes to the pattern - 50-52; 54-56 and 58-60 inches (127-132; 137-142; 147-152 cm).
