Doesn‘t every doll need a silk lace shawl to wear on a walk with her dog on cool nights? It was my daughter‘s idea to knit this shawl for her American Girl Doll, Kit. It‘s the perfect present for any child‘s doll and even a good introduction to lace and shawl knitting. It uses about 100 yards of lace weight yarn and can be knit up in no time. The lace pattern reminds me of a thistle and is has patterning on both right and wrong side rows. It is knit from bottom up and the crescent shape is formed with short rows. Approximate finished dimensions after washing and blocking: 8”/20 cm deep and 15”/38 cm wide at the top edge, 18”/46 cm wide at the bottom lace edge. Skill Level: advanced beginner/intermediate Yarn: Approximately 94.5 yards (86.4m) of lace weight yarn, I used JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18. Needles: US 4 /3.50mm. Notions: Waste yarn for a possible lifeline and 9 stitch markers. Gauge: 18 sts/4 inches in stockinette stitch after
