Product Details
This scarf is made in the mosaic knitting technique in which one color is used across the row and the specified stitches of the opposite color are slipped instead of knitting them, creating the vertical lines. Mosaic knitting is quite easy and satisfying!
The mosaic scarf shown is made with 1 ball of #226 Black and 1/2 ball of hand-dyed #201 Winter White of Patons Classic Wool Worsted yarn (Note: This yarn was dyed with Easter Egg dyes, which you can read about in my April 4, 2015 blog post at TheCrochetArchitect website). You can make your scarf with any yarn you desire.
Since I didn’t want the hand-dyed yarn to pool, I decided to design a mosaic scarf with it. It worked out great and there was absolutely NO pooling!
Your scarf can easily be made wider by adding another pattern repeat and it can be made longer by working more repeats, as well.
The pattern includes both written instructions and a mosaic knitting chart.
