Kyudo is the Japanese art of archery and knitting this shawl reminded me of it, you concentrate for a little bit and can then get lost in stitches.
This shawl is first knit sideways and spiced up by a few short rows, with a wavy lace edging added later. The edging is a Feather and Fan variation that is easy to work and complements the shawl shape. Although you have to pick up stitches for the border, slipped stitches along the body of the shawl make this easier.
The sample was knit in Schibot Garne Soft Socks (80% Merino, 20% Nylon; 440 yds/ 400m per 100g), 4ply/fingering weight, Deep deep down (MC) and Magical (CC). A substitute yarn is shown below.
