Product Details
This elongated crescent-shaped shawl can also be worn as a long scarf. The lace border is knit first, then stitches are picked up along the top edge of the border, and the remainder of the shawl is knit in garter stitch, with short-row shaping. A picot bind-off finishes the top edge.
Named after one of the fashionable 1960s shops along Carnaby Street in London, the Lady Jane shawl can be worn as a long crescent shawlette or as a scarf. It is knit using one Transitional color pack in the Gemstones colorway, but can also be knit using a single skein of sock-weight yarn. If you choose to substitute yarn, pick one with a nice drape after blocking and a soft hand. Gauge is not crucial for this project, but will affect the amount of yarn needed to complete it as written.
Skills needed: Chart-reading skills, yarn-over increases, short-row shaping (written instructions for these), and basic knit/purl skills.
