Product Details
Landskein is a word recently popularised by writer Robert MacFarlane – a word used to describe the way distant layers of horizon lines braid together on hazy days. You almost certainly have seen this when viewing distant and layered mountain ranges, which always seem to be a dreamy shade of blue-grey. If we are to re-forge our connection with nature, we need to re-populate our language with words that describe it. When our vocabulary of nature is enriched so is our way of seeing and experiencing the natural world. It is easier to exploit natural resources and destroy ecosystems when our language is bereft of terms to describe it. But now, when you look at distant, hazy horizons, you’ll know what a landskein is.
