Product Details
The Loire, the longest river in France, runs through our city Nantes. Though Nantes is located at 50 km from the river mouth, we can see daily, at high tide, the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean going over the Loire and the tributaries, causing sometimes flooding with moon phases. Loire sweater is a striped sweater that depicts that mix of salt water and fresh water that we witness every day in Nantes, respectively represented by darker blue and light blue. It also has shoulder buttons as on French striped marine sweaters.
Though it is a set-in sleeve sweater, the sleeves are actually worked at the same time as the body to have the stripes in the same rows. I also used little “tricks” so the fit around the neck and shoulders is perfect. I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing it!
