Product Details
Malwina is a sister shawl to my older design, Nasturcja, and its name was inspired by another flower in the colour of the yarn I used – a hollyhock, in Polish malwa, and I decided to use the surname derived from this flower as the name of the shawl. Malwina is a larger rectangular shawl and can be wrapped beautifully and add colour to your life. The lace sections in the shawl are a relatively easy pattern using basic increasing and decreasing with a large stockinette section which shows off the lace motifs.
Yarn – sock, sport or DK. My shawl was knit in Garnstudio Drops Alpaca (7 skieins)
Size - the overall size depends on the yarn weight and needles used. You can add repeats to make the shawl longer and increase/decrease the number of stitches in the stockinette section to make the shawl wider/narrower.
My gauge is 24sts x 32rows = 4inches x 4inches / 10cm x 10cm in stockinette blocked, but it’s not crucial to obtain the same.
