Product Details

The Mariah Shawl is inspired by the song "Mariah" as performed by the Bar J Wranglers, lovely western song about regret, longing, and the wild nature of the wind. The shawl is quite large--measuring at 115 inches/292 cm along the longest edge--and is perfect for use as a wrap, scarf, or even a blanket.

The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle design. It starts with a simple 2x2 rib that evolves into a cable pattern that represents the winds as they blow about. The pattern includes instructions for reducing (or increasing) the size of the shawl.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner You will need to know how to knit and purl. Instructions are given on how to complete the cables. There are charted and written instructions for the cables.

Yarn: fingering weight, approximately 2700yds/2470 m (pictured is Weld in Gold Leaf from Hudson and West Co.)

Needles: US 5/3.75 mm 32 inches/80 cm circular knitting needles, cable needle optional
