I made these to keep my hands warm while playing outside with my dogs. I find when I'm throwing the ball or otherwise romping through the woods with these guys, I always end up needing my bare fingers. Why "Mermaid Mitts?" The first time I made them, I used a rainbow "Chroma" yarn and my daughter said they look like Mermaid Tails. It's a great name!
