In the pack of 5 balls of cotton yarn I bought, the final ball is full of black specks woven into the yarn. The black bits can be picked out but it frays the yarn and they're more noticeable on the bag I'm making as it uses front and back post crochet. Unfortunately this it not the first time I've bought differing quality yarn from Lovecrafts, a couple of years ago I bought king cole mustard merino 4ply that had full or partial breaks at least once per meter. I thought it was a one-off but now I think quality control is poor, I might order elsewhere in future. The other four balls were perfect, the yarn is good for crochet, rarely splits and keeps good stitch definition. There is the odd slight lump but barely visible to the eye and no knots and it is soft.

Love this yarn. Knits up beautifully. Haven't washed garment yet, so hope that it keeps shape. Definitely recommend a tension swatch as I need to use slightly larger size needles.
