Product Details
Beautiful pattern for self-dyed sock yarn. The zigzag goes smoothly around the thumb and there is no seam to be seen. Years ago, I fell in love with Elizabeth Zimmermanns garter stitch patterns. I admire their simplicity and their sophisticated design. AND a good friend of mine needed some stylish warmth for her hands. So these mitts simply had to be in garter stitch. And colourful. Something special for a special person.
Mirja is adjustable to any hand and you can knit them with fingering weight or dk/worsted weight. You can make the mitts long or short - or better: try both. And you just need one skein (100g)! Have fun and make your individual Mirja mitts with hand-dyed yarn! ::: CONSTRUCTION Mirja is knitted sideways. You start with the gusset, add stitches at the left and the right side for the main body of the mitts and knit on in zig-zag garter stitch around your wrist. The ends are then grafted together.
