Product Details
An elongated boomerang shape with eyelet edges, this scarf has the effect of being knitted on the bias but the main feature is the chunky and at the same time lacy, purl-less rib.
Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED scarves, it drapes beautifully, can be worn in all sorts of ways, and is quick to knit because the pattern uses needles larger than is standard for the yarn.
However although it’s easy to knit (the pattern includes detailed instructions and photos explaining how to make the knit below stitches that create the purl-less rib) on several occasions I made a mistake, dropped a stitch or realised that I’d muddled the rib stitches a row or three back. And because of the structure of the knit 1 below stitches, I found it a bit challenging to fix the mistake and get going again. I soon realised I needed to knit a tad more slowly and carefully than usual.
The pictured scarf measures 83cm/36¾ in by 134cm/56¾in by 195cm/76½in without blocking
