Product Details
The cowl in the photo is Rabi and can be bought here, in English, French and German, as well.
Undulating texture echoes Arabic geometric art in this representation of the confluence of styles from Cordoba, Spain, under Moorish occupation between the 9th and 11th centuries. This turban-style hat is knit in one piece, beginning with a singularly cabled band that is worked flat, and then grafted together. The crown is picked up from this band and worked in the round, creating a seamless accessory in four sizes. Stitch pattern is both written and charted.
16 (18, 20, 22)" circumference × 5.75" band height (not including crown); to be worn with 0–2.5" negative ease
Skills Required: Casting on provisionally, cabling, picking up and knitting, grafting (instructions for grafting on needles included in pattern), decreasing, creative manipulation of your knitting.
You may wish to choose a size smaller than you normally do, as this hat is intended to be worn with negative ease, more like a turban
