Product Details
If you are new to lace, but want to try an easy lace shawl, this might be the perfect pattern for you.
The shawl features two variations of the knit “ladder” stitch, both of which are very simple. One is a knit purl combination, and one is a bit more open, but still a knit purl combination. The second shows off the focal stitch nicely, while still being a suitable pattern for a beginner.
The lace stitches are both written out line by line, and charted. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.
Skill Level: Beginner + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting.)
The yarn used in the sample is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport in the colorway, Putty.
Most sport weight yarns will work on this pattern, 4 sts/inch in lace pattern, aggressively blocked on approximate size U.S. #6 (4.00mm) needles.
No crochet hooks needed if you don't want to do the optional crocheted edging.
