Product Details
This pattern is designed for the ages/sizes given, however it is possible to scale up or down to make larger or smaller sizes. UK crochet terms given.
The hexagon jacket pattern is mostly created using a series of trebles and chains, and constructed from several granny square and hexagon panels. If you are a confident beginner, with knowledge of making granny squares, you will hopefully find the pattern easy to use.
The pattern uses written instructions - currently there are no charts included, for the granny squares or hexagons.
This is quite a “yarn-hungry” pattern as it is intended to be a chunky jacket. The largest size requires 10 x 50g balls, less if making in a solid colour instead of stripes. We used Drops Alaska in our test makes, which is a heavier Aran yarn, at 70m per ball. To give you an idea of fit, the child in the photo is aged 3yrs with a chest measurement of 55cm, and is wearing size 2-4yrs.
Sizes: 6-12m, 1-2yrs, 2-4yrs, 4-6yrs
Hook: 6mm
Buttons: 5 (6, 6, 6)
