About the Design:
I designed this Nordic-style baby cardigan for my first grandchild, Alex, using traditional Norwegian motifs and layout. Its construction varies from the traditional, though, for minimal finishing! The cardigan is worked back and forth, not steeked, and the sleeve stitches are picked up and knit down, from the armhole, instead of being sewn in. 13 color charts are included, to make it very easy to knit the desired size! These little sizes are quick to knit, especially in a heavy worsted weight yarn, as babies grow quickly!
Small size needs approx. 235 yds. MC, 50 yds A, and 55 yds B. Medium size needs approx. 255 yds. MC, 55 yds A, and 60 yds B. Large size needs approx. 275 yds. MC, 60 yds A, and 65 yds B.
Gauge: 20 sts and 25 rows = 4” (10 cm) over patt, using size 8 ndls, or size to achieve gauge.
