Product Details
In Illinois, leaves of the poison ivy plant, Toxicodendron radicans, turn a gorgeous red in the fall. In fact, according to Michelle Wiesbrook with the University of Illinois Extension, this plant has been imported into a few countries for this reason. I am in constant battle with this beautiful plant, as the urushiol in its sap can cause allergic skin reactions.
The heel flap of these cuff-down socks incorporates slipped stitches for strength and durability. The leaves are worked in stranded knitting, with duplicate stitches for the stems, and the remainder of the sock is worked in ribbing to provide a great fitting sock. Test knitters rated this an intermediate knit. Light & dark MC charts are provided.
