Product Details
The Peetri pattern is the second pattern in the collection inspired by a rich heritage of Estonian national costumes. The pattern is loosely based on a woven belt pattern collected in 1912 from Müüsleri village in Peetri parish. The first pattern in series was the Urvaste blanket. The blanket is worked in one piece in a mosaic garter stitch. The size is easily adjustable by making more or fewer repeats. Smaller sizes are suitable for a cushion cover or a doll blanket. Medium sizes make a great baby blanket or lapghan. Directions are given for a square blanket but can be easily worked as a rectangle by working more repeats. The charts are also given in reversed colours (page 5) for ease of use in case you decide to swap the light and dark colours in your blanket. The sample was made in Aran / 10 ply weight acrylic yarn. Different yarn weights and fibres can be used. Using different fibres affects the size of the blanket and the amount of yarn needed.
