My son wanted a hat. Perfectly plain. No stranded knitting. I rarely knit anything plain. But I could do it. For him. Then he called me. He loves to fish. Could he have a small fish border at the edge? YAY!!!. Subdued. All greys. With my beloved fish skeletons. Knit in a Falklands wool or Cascade 220 Superwash Merino.
You can knit this “perfectly plain” leaving out the fishies on the edge and increasing the MC by the amount of the CC. It has a nice fit with a tiny column of rib for a little textural interest. In three sizes: SM (small), MD (medium) & LG (large - shown in photo)
If a slightly larger hat is desired, go up 1 needle size and switch to regular worsted weight, such as Cascade 220.
