Product Details
Pisa takes advantage of crochet’s tendency to slant when worked in the round. Parallelograms – resembling the famous leaning tower in Italy – begin to appear as this slouchy hat is crocheted in a self-striping yarn combined with a lighter/darker solid-color yarn.
The hat is worked from the top down in joined rounds with color changes on every round. The pattern includes a one-page photo tutorial on how to make color changes while joining rounds.
The hat is designed with 2 in./5 cm of negative ease for a snug, but not tight, fit at the bottom edge.
Pisa is crocheted with worsted/aran weight yarn
NOTE: The “Pisa” parallelogram pattern shows up best when the self-striping yarn (CC) has long color changes AND the solid color (MC) is either lighter or darker in color than every color in CC.
Main Color – MC (solid)
• Approx. 99 yd./91 m
Contrasting Color – CC (self-striping)
• Approx. 80 yd./73 m
The pattern provides written instructions using U.S. crochet terms.
