Yarn Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool (45% wool, 35% silk, 20% nylon; 191 yd [175 m]/50 g): #132 oxblood, 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11) skeins.
Needles Sizes 4 (3.5mm) and 6 (4.0 mm): 32" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpns). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); waste yarn; tapestry needle.
Gauge 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles; 23 sts and 34 rows = 4" in 2x2 rib on smaller needles. To save time and ensure proper fit, please take time to check gauge.
Notes This sweater is worked back and forth from the top down—a circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. The sleeves are divided at the armholes and worked in the round down. The body is worked separately. The collar is picked up and worked at the end.
