Product Details
Thisscarf is reversible, with neat edges, and cleverly integrates the contrasting colour purl stitches to accentuate the wavy pattern formed with increases and decreases. A stitch that lets you choose your preferred “right side” and strongly reminds me of ripples on the water!
Construction & Techniques: The scarf is worked from both ends towards the middle, with stripes of alternating colours eventually blending into a two-colour mesh lace. The two pieces are joined with Kitchener stitch. I-cord edges hide the unused colour as it is carried along, stabilise the scarf and make for a finished look.
Skills required: Knitting and purling, right- and left-leaning decreases, yarn overs and central decreases, and grafting with Kitchener stitch (photo tutorial included).
Yarn & Needles: The pattern uses equal amounts of DK-weight yarn in two colours. A circular needle is required to slide the stitches from one end of the needle to the other.
