Product Details
This is a pattern for a knit shawl that features two lace (and cable-lace) stitches that come to us from Japan. The focal stitch is an intricate and unique (mock) cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. The border stitches are also unique, but quite a bit easier to knit. Combined, they make a one of a kind shawl, quickly becoming an heirloom.
Skill Level: Intermediate+ (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).
The two stitches are both charted.
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging. You won't need crochet hooks if you opt not to make the edging.
The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Page Zelasko, who can be contacted at: izazbz @yahoo.com, and it was knit using Handmaiden's Casbah in colorway, Smoke.
Almost any heavy fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn, where you can get a gauge of 4.75/inch using a U.S. size #6 (4.5mm) needles will work with this pattern.
