Product Details
The seasonal ditty, “April showers bring May flowers," is depicted in this allegorical shawl, as eyelet “rain" falls upon clusters of lace “flowers," taken from the classic Rose Trellis pattern. Knit in pink for breast cancer awareness, this shawl represents, in a humble way, parts of my breast cancer journey, which you can read more about in the pattern. Between 2010-2012, sales from this pattern raised over $600 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure (www.komen.org), to support breast cancer research.
The pattern provides both written and charted instructions and is suitable for knitters with some experience (advanced beginner/intermediate level). A heavy fingering or sportweight yarn will result in a cute shawlette; using a worsted weight yarn will give a fuller-sized shawl. However, any size yarn can be used, just note that size and yardage will vary.
