Self Cover Tote Bag

Personalise a ready-made calico or canvas tote bag to stand out from the crowd. This pattern can be worked to cover any size bag; two squares (or rectangles) are knitted from the centre outwards. It can be worked in any thickness of yarn from 4ply to super-chunky. Variegated, multi-coloured, handpainted or multi-yarn ball yarns will emphasise the different directions of knitting.

Yarn amounts (to cover an average 35 x 38cm bag): 4ply - 550m, DK - 400m, aran - 325m, chunky - 250m, super chunky - 200m

Stitches Used: cast on, knit, purl, increase (diagram included), cast off, knitting on four needles or on a circular needle.
