Product Details

Socks are made up of geometrical shapes. The leg and foot are cylinders, the heel flap is a rectangle, the heel is a hemisphere, the gusset is a triangle, and the toe is a trapezoid! So to honour this discovery, I have designed this simple pattern. The circles are blurry owing to using a marled yarn on a solid background, but you can create a sharper effect if you use a solid yarn on a marled background. You could experiment with 2 solid colours - just be as creative as you want! The socks are knitted cuff down with heel flap. The heel, sole and toe are worked with 2 strands of yarn held together on alternate rows, so creating a lovely thick, comfortable sole to walk on with reduced chance of wearing through. Instructions are given in 3 sizes: slimmer foot woman/teenager; average foot woman/slim man; and broader foot/average man.
