My little granddaughter is mad about a certain cartoon character. I wanted to buy her a cuddly toy version but having looked everywhere online, was unable to find anything. So I came up with Spuddy, my own interpretation of the supermarket hero. Happily, she loved him as soon as she saw him, so I thought I'd share the pattern for anyone else out there searching for something similar.
Spuddy is worked in DK acrylic yarn, mainly on straight single point needles (DPNs being used for the starting rounds at the base of the body). The eyes & mouth are in felt, stitched onto the main body. The remaining pieces are all worked flat & stitched to finish.
This pattern would be suitable for a competent beginner or an intermediate knitter. It is offered in downloadable PDF format with row by row instructions & plenty of photos for reference.
