Product Details
Our stripy cushion cover is knitted using a dense Aran weight yarn. We used DROPS Alaska 100% wool, but a great substitute would be GGH Samson, or Cascade 220 yarns, both of which have similar yarn properties, colour and tension. Included with your pattern is a list of alternative yarn suggestions.
The cushion is knitted on a diagonal, meaning that you start with one stitch, increase to a set number, and then decrease, to form a square. Although it's "just" garter stitch, the techniques used in the pattern will prevent you getting bored (and... we LOVE garter stitch, here at The Little Songbird Knitting Co!).
You will need:
GGH Samson: 4 x 50g balls in Anthrazit (34); 2 x 50g balls in Burgundersamt(45); Amethystila (51); Fuschiarot (50); Etenblau (43)
OR
Cascade 220: 2 x 100g Jet (4002); 1 x 100g Cranberry (8415); 1 x 100g Eggplant (8418); 1 x 100g Purple Tourmaline (9641); 1 x 100g Midnight Blue (9543)
AND
4.5mm (US 7) knitting needles; 38 x 38 cm cushion pad; 8 x 15mm buttons.
